Valais Haute Route

Itinerary:

Day 1

Meet the group at our starting point in Verbier. Later in the afternoon, we will check all the gear, discuss the weekly plan and do some last minute food shopping.

Day 2

We will start our week by using the local cable cars to avoid some meters in altitude. We will head east on beautiful trails towards a high altitude mountain hut, where we will be staying overnight. To get there we are going to cross a peak of 2500 meters above sea level.
Uphill: 800 meters, Length: 33 km

Day 3

Monday morning you are in for a treat: A 1000 meter descent into the valley for breakfast. After a shuttle ride of 1900 altitude meters. you’ll be pedaling alongside a beautiful lake before starting the hike a’ bike. Breathtaking views on glaciers and some of the highest peaks in the alps make the hike worthwhile. Tonight we will be staying at hotel with all amenities. Highest point of the day is mountain pass at almost 3000 meters above sea level.
Uphill: 1100 meters, Length: 29 km

Day 4

Today is a fully self-suppported trip. With over 1000 meters of ascent and an even longer descent, this is the longest day of our tour. The amazing singletrails we ride on our way down are worth the effort. Highest point of the day is over 2800 meters above sea level.
Uphill: 1450 meters, Length: 33 km

Day 5

On day 5 we will start the day with a cable car ride and some casual pedaling. Then we have a 600 meter climb in front of us that will most likely involve pushing & carrying your bike. The pass at 2800 meters is the start of a long downhill that starts off rocky and heads into loamy forests. Luckily there is a beautiful hotel off the beaten path at the end of a secluded valley where we will be staying overnight.
Uphill: 700 meters, Length: 25 km

Day 6

After fueling up with a nourishing breakfast at the hotel, we will leave the beautiful valley and head for the next pass. After a couple hundert altitude meters of ascent, we start the longest downhill of the week. From 2800 down to 600 meters all in one go. Our overnight location, a mountain hotel on 1900 meters above sea level, is reached with a small cable car.
Uphill: 1100 meters, Length: 22 km

Day 7

The last day of riding offers everything from techy sections to long flowy descents hitting some of our guides favorite trails on the way. We will head for Brig with its beautiful old town where we will stay for the last night and enjoy great local food.
Uphill: 1200 meters, Length: 35 km

Day 8

The return shuttle to the airport, trainstation or carpark is provided.

Accommodation and meals

We will be using a mix of mountain huts, mountain hotels and regular hotels where possible
